The next stop was to the Oceanarium, one of the few attractions in Murmansk; home to the Russian Arctic Research Centre and some half-a-dozen seals of various species. Unlike the Polaria in Tromsø this was a properly orchestrated show of nearly an hour when the seals are put through their various paces and of course fed as they go. It was a real delight to see the Russian children, to whom the performance is primarily directed laughing and clapping at the antics and clever tricks of the seals who regularly posed with their flippers clapping to accept the applause! Here are just a couple of photos to give you a feel for this very entertaining show.
