Well I'm back home after a very interesting cruise and just to prove that I did go here is a photo of me embarking on MS Braemar in Dover on 22nd June!! I stayed this happy throughout the cruise – honest!
I thought it was high time I began to publish the rest of the Blog for this cruise to the Arctic and White Sea after the problems I had in sending posts onboard. I was even more confused this morning when I accessed the Blog myself to find that the error email I sent from my iPad got through – even though ti told me it had failed - but not from my laptop!! I've tried taking up the matter with o2 but they appear uninterested so I will have to keep trying to find out what caused the problem since I don't want it to happen again.
In reality the Blog was going to be hard to do with such a busy itinerary since once we reached Scavenger it was a port every day for the next 6 days with no time to write the Blog and then when I did get some days at sea after leaving Archangel the onboard Wi-Fi was only available intermittently!
So welcome folks to a retrospective Blog!! At least it will give me a chance to check up on one or two facts and give you some links to Wikipedia if yo want to follow-up in more detail on some aspects.
PS The Polar Bear shown in the photo frame is not real – its stuffed toy and available in the ship shop. No I didn't buy it but I did acquire a Troll as you do but more of that to come.
