As we came into the dock I noticed parked underneath one of the cranes a ‘bright yellow bullet shaped locomotive’. Some of you will recall that in one of the more recent James Bond films (I have no doubt someone will tell me which one) Sean Bean played the part of a villain – an exile from a Cossack group - who travelled around Russia in a menacing black, bullet shaped train.
Luckily the one parked under the crane today was not as menacing but very distinctive and turned out to be a new snowplough. In addition to a huge plough on its front it had two winged shaped ploughs mounted on some heavy hydraulics, folded along its sides. I guess when used in anger this powerful locomotive not only cleared the track but cleared snow back for about 15 feet on either side of the track!
